Peresmian BAT sebagai KEK di Batam dijalankan sebagaimana pedoman protokol kesehatan bertempat di fasilitas BAT oleh Menteri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian Republik Indonesia (RI), Airlangga Hartarto, Menteri Perindustrian RI Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Gubernur Kepulauan Riau Ansar Ahmad, Kepala Badan Pengusahaan (BP) Batam sekaligus Walikota Batam Muhammad Rudi, Presiden Direktur Lion Air Group Edward Sirait, Direktur Utama Batam Aero Technic I Nyoman Rai Pering Santaya dan disaksikan oleh jajaran lembaga/ institusi terkait.

Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group, Danang Mandala Prihantoro menyebutkan, BAT telah memenuhi kriteria-kriteria menurut ketentuan tentang penyelenggaraan KEK dan memenuhi kualifikasi rencana bisnis yang mampu memberikan dampak bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional khususnya industri aviasi.



“Nilai investasi Rp 7,29 triliun serta dapat menyerap tenaga kerja berkisar 9.976 orang pada 2030. Kehadiran KEK ini diharapkan dapat menghemat devisa 65-70% dari kebutuhan MRO maskapai penerbangan nasional senilai Rp 26 triliun per tahun yang selama ini mengalir ke luar negeri,” terang Danang Mandala.

Dalam jangka menengah, kata dia, diharapkan mampu menangkap peluang dari pasar Asia Pasifik yang diprediksi memiliki rata-rata (kisaran) 12.000 unit pesawat udara dan nilai bisnis sebesar US$ 100 miliar pada 2025.

Batam Aero Technic yang mulai beroperasi pada 2014 merupakan perusahaan penyedia jasa perawatan dan perbaikan pesawat atau Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) yang didirikan dengan tujuan untuk merawat dan memperbaiki pesawat-pesawat yang dioperasikan oleh perusahaan penerbangan yang tergabung dalam Lion Air Group seperti Lion Air, Wings Air, Batik Air, Lion Bizjet, Malindo Air, Thai Lion Air serta Angkasa Aviation Academy (sekolah pilot).

Capability yang dimiliki oleh Batam Aero Technic saat ini adalah perawatan Airbus 320, Boeing 737 series, Airbus A330, Hawker 800/ 900 XP, ATR 72 500/ 600 serta memperkerjakan kurang lebih 2.000 personil (sumber daya manusia) dengan jumlah investasi yang sudah tertanam sekitar 1 triliun rupiah (Rp 1 triliun).

Batam Aero Technic telah memiliki 4 (empat) unit hanggar perawatan pesawat dengan daya tampung 12 pesawat Boeing 737, Airbus 320, 1 unit hanggar untuk pembersihan permukaan cat pada badan pesawat (paint stripping) sebelum masuk proses pengecatan ulang (painting) dan perawatan pesawat. Lalu 1 unit hanggar untuk pengecatan dan perawatan pesawat, 1 gedung suku cadang seluas 4.000 m2, dan 1 unit gedung sarana perawatan komponen pesawat (workshop).

“Sarana perawatan dan perbaikan telah dibangun di atas lahan seluas 30 hektar (Ha) yang disediakan oleh Badan Pengusahaan Batam,” bebernya.


Logistik BAT mencakup gudang peralatan, komponen (tools and sparepart) untuk pekerjaan yang berkaitan pabrikasi (maintenance workshop), seperti cabin item: dapur pesawat (galley), toilet pesawat (lavatory), kompartemen bagasi kabin (headrack), furnishing (seat, coverseat, carpet, handrest) dan lainnya. Kawasan industri BAT telah terbangun sejalan pada lahan tahap 1 dan 2 seluas 6 hektar (Ha). Saat ini dalam pembangunan tahap 3.

Pada pembangunan hanggar tahap 3, menurut Danang, BAT berencana membangun 8 unit hanggar yang dapat menampung 24 pesawat udara tipe Boeing 737 dan Airbus 320. Delapan unit hanggar ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan serapan perawatan pesawat secara nasional dan internasional, serta meminimalisir jumlah pekerjaan yang dikirim ke luar negeri.

BAT menyampaikan rasa terima kasih atas terbentuknya sebagai KEK di Batam dalam upaya melakukan pengembangan usaha dengan tujuan sinergi positif sektor aviasi. Ekosistem Industri Penerbangan

Pembentukan dan pengembangan KEK BAT di Batam siap beroperasi sejalan mendukung program pemerintah dalam menciptakan ekosistem yang kondusif industri penerbangan nasional.dan akan dilakukan evaluasi pembangunan setiap tahunnya.

Langkah strategis untuk mendukung operasional dimaksud, tersedianya jumlah SDM atau tenaga kerja berdaya saing, BAT bersama Lion Air Group Training Center (LGTC) yang bergerak dibidang pendidikan khususnya pendidikan aviasi telah menambah tenaga kerja dengan keahlian sebagai mekanik atau teknisi pesawat udara sesuai kebutuhan.



Selain itu, dilakukan kerjasama dengan Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization (AMTO) sebagai pusat pendidikan dan pelatihan bidang aviasi yang bertujuan menjamin tersedianya tenaga kerja khususnya mekanik dan teknisi pesawat udara.
