PT Telkom Jajaki Kerjasama dengan SpaceX | OBROLANBISNIS.com — Demi meningkatkan konektivitas di Indonesia, Emiten BUMN PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) saat ini menjajaki kerjasama dengan SpaceX. Seperti diketahui SpaceX sendiri merupakan perusahaan yang didirikan taipan Elon Musk.
VP Corporate Communication Telkom Pujo Pramono mengatakan perseroan berkomitmen mendukung upaya pemerintah untuk meningkatkan konektivitas digital di seluruh wilayah Indonesia. Mengingat geografis wilayah Indonesia luas, kata Pujo, peran teknologi satelit sangat dibutuhkan dalam mengakselerasi pemerataan konektivitas digital hingga ke pelosok nusantara.
Telkom terbuka untuk bermitra dengan pihak manapun yang memiliki kompetensi dalam pemanfaatan teknologi satelit, termasuk satelit orbit bumi rendah (Low Earth Orbit Satellite/LEO) milik Elon Musk, Starlink.
“Hal inilah yang mendasari pembicaraan kerja sama Telkom dengan SpaceX,” kata Pujo kepada Bisnis, Rabu, 21 Juli 2021). Pujo mengatakan sebagai perusahaan satelit, SpaceX memiliki kompetensi mumpuni dalam pengembangan teknologi satelit.
Dia berharap dengan terjalinnya kerjasama nanti, Telkom mampu memberikan solusi guna mengakselerasi konektivitas hingga pelosok nusantara. Pujo belum dapat menceritakan skema, linimasa, hingga nilai investasi dari kerja sama tersebut karena masih dalam tahap penjajakan.

“Harapannya dengan terjalinnya kerjasama, Telkom mampu memberikan solusi guna mengakselerasi konektivitas hingga pelosok nusantara dengan penyediaan layanan satelit yang andal, berkualitas dan terjangkau,” ujarnya.
Sekadar informasi, layanan satelit Starlink rencananya dapat mulai dinikmati di seluruh dunia (kecuali Kutub Utara dan Selatan) pada Agustus 2021. Dalam acara Mobile World Congress 2021, Elon Musk, CEO SpaceZ, mengklaim sudah ada 12 negara yang menyatakan siap menerima layanan Starlink.
Biaya berlangganan layanan internet satelit Starlink sekitar Rp1,45 juta per bulan dengan peranti penangkap sinyal seharga Rp7,26 juta. Sebelumnya, SpaceX melalui anak usahanya Starlink dikabarkan bakal berinvestasi di Indonesia.
Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika (Kemenkominfo) melalui Direktorat Telekomunikasi pun menggelar kegiatan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) jaring pendapat dari Asosiasi Penyelenggara Telekomunikasi untuk membahas hal tersebut. ***

Telkom VP Corporate Communication Pujo Pramono said the company is committed to supporting the government’s efforts to improve digital connectivity throughout Indonesia. Pujo has not been able to tell the scheme, timeline, and investment value of the cooperation because it is still in the exploratory stage.

For your information, Starlink’s satellite service is planned to be enjoyed worldwide (except the North and South Poles) in August 2021. At the Mobile World Congress 2021 event, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceZ, claimed that 12 countries were ready to receive Starlink services.
The cost of subscribing to the Starlink satellite internet service is around IDR 1.45 million per month with a signal capture device for IDR 7.26 million. Previously, SpaceX through its subsidiary Starlink was rumored to be investing in Indonesia.
