The Deputy Governor Ensures that PPKM Assistance is Immediately Received by the Community | OBROLANBISNIS.com — The Deputy Governor (Vice Governor) of North Sumatra (Sumut) Musa Rajekshah ensured that Social Assistance (Bansos) was immediately received by Beneficiary Families (KPM). For this reason, Regency/City Governments are asked to ensure that the assistance reaches the community on time and on target.

This was conveyed by Deputy Governor Musa Rajekshah after attending a virtual coordination meeting (Rakor) with the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Menko) RI Airlangga Hartarto from his office, 9th Floor of the Governor’s Office, Jalan Diponegoro Medan, Wednesday, July 28 2021. Accompanying the Head of the Community Empowerment Service Aspan Sofian Village (PMD) and the North Sumatra Covid-19 Task Force Team.

As for Social Assistance as part of an effort to ease the economic burden during the implementation of the said community activity restrictions (PPKM), the Deputy Governor said that there would be several types that would be provided, such as the basic food card program, internet subsidies, discounted electricity bills, pre-employment cards, rice and MSMEs.

“We are grateful to the President through the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Mr. Airlangga Hartanto, because all this time we know how difficult it is for the community during this PPKM,” said Musa Rajekshah, who is familiarly called Ijeck.

For the distribution of social assistance, said Ijeck, in accordance with the direction of the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) to local governments, not to hesitate to run it. Because if the goal is to help and there are no other elements or intentions, of course it can be channeled to the maximum.

“Just distribute it as long as there is no specific intention. And now (rice staples) it is running. Because this distribution is indeed an emphasis from the central government,” he added.

From the Coordination Meeting which was attended by several other provinces, Ijeck hoped that in addition to the government’s efforts to distribute aid to communities affected by Covid-19, residents who have more income or are economically capable, can take social actions in their respective environments.

“For entrepreneurs, organizations, please help our community, which still lacks basic necessities, free rice and other forms. So that the government will also be helped because we have limitations,” hoped the Deputy Governor.

Meanwhile, in terms of handling Covid-19 in North Sumatra, the Deputy Governor said that the Medan Hajj Dormitory was currently being prepared as a place to accommodate patients. Previously, the Wisma Atlet Jalan Pancing Medan had also been prepared as part of an effort to add 1,000 beds, in anticipation of a surge.

“Our target is hopefully two weeks to complete. Hajj Dormitory and Wisma Atlet,” said the Deputy Governor, regarding the current availability of beds, where the usage rate (BOR) has reached 60 percent and the ICU room is 59 percent.

He also reminded the public to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols, wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, washing hands and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Because the government cannot work alone, without the support of citizens’ awareness during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There must be public awareness to maintain health, immunity, and vaccines. We understand that this condition is difficult, many of our people are making a living to eat today,” he concluded. ***
