Dozens of selected students representing the 11 PTN/PTS will gain practical learning experience in state-owned state-owned enterprises.

Not only getting experience in the world of work, students will also get various benefits that will be provided by PT Pegadaian (Persero) Regional Office I Medan.

Benefits or benefits that will be received by students are official certificates that will be given by Pegadaian; scholarships for the 5 best students; productivity incentives; and also have the opportunity to be accepted as an employee.

This was conveyed by Edwin S Inkiriwang at the ‘Independence Student Admission Ceremony to Study Merdeka Campus’ which was attended by representatives of 11 PTN/PTS, Friday (10/9), at the Grand Mercure Hotel Medan.

Edwin added that the internship program for students is a form of Pegadaian’s support for the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

“Pegadaian has a program called Magenta (Digital Marketing Agent) which is in line with the government’s goal to develop the Merdeka Campus,” said Edwin.

The Magenta program will become a living laboratory for students in carrying out the learning process in the world of work. “Indeed, currently, only 81 students can be accepted by Pegadaian to participate in the internship process, due to limitations. The 81 students who have been accepted have gone through various selections and will start working activities on September 13,” explained Edwin.

Meanwhile, the representative of the University of North Sumatra (USU), Dr. Edi Ihsan as Deputy Chancellor I appreciated the Certified Apprenticeship program conducted by Medan Pegadaian.

“In one semester, students will move campuses to learn to develop hard skills and soft skills at the pawnshop company,” he said.

He hopes that students who are selected will get a job opportunity at the Medan Pawnshop, so that they can really take advantage of this opportunity as well as possible.

“Explore potential and take practical experience gained in real time during an internship at Pegadaian. Students will also be monitored even though they are undergoing the internship process at Pegadaian,” he said.

Representing the Medan State Polytechnic (Polmed), Abdul Rahman added, this activity is very useful, where the Ministry of Education and Culture requires students to work outside the campus.

“On this occasion, students can work according to industry expertise. And if they have good progress, they can have the opportunity to be employed in the future,” he said.

Also present were the Deputy for Operations of PT Pegadaian (Persero) Regional Office I Medan, I Ketut Suarnawa; Deputy for Medan Area Business 1 M. Aries Aviani; Sami Marice as the Head of the Non Pawning Deputy for Medan 2 Area and representatives of 11 PTN/PTS. ***
