Sebagai perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang bahan bakar, Wakil Gubernur (Wagub) Sumatera Utara (Sumut) Musa Rajekshah berharap Shell Indonesia dapat berkontribusi membangun peningkatan ekonomi di Provinsi Sumut.
Hal ini disampaikannya, saat menggelar webinar bersama Shell Indonesia dari Kantor DPRD Sumut, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Medan, Rabu, 22 September 2021.
“Kita berharap kehadiran Shell di Sumut bisa memberikan satu hal untuk peningkatan ekonomi. Juga bisa menyerap tenaga kerja dan memberikan kontribusi PAD bagi daerah dan Provinsi Sumut,” ungkap Wagub Musa Rajekshah.
Musa Rajekshah mengatakan, sebagai perusahaan minyak, Shell saat ini sudah mengembangkan usaha di bidang SPBU di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia, termasuk salah satunya di Sumut. Untuk itu, diharapkan dalam persaingan bisnis yang berlangsung, Shell dapat memberikan nuansa yang baru.
“Kita juga berharap Shell dapat berperan dalam berbagai kegiatan seperti otomotif agar bisa terus maju dan berkembang apakah melalui CSR nya dan lain-lain,” pungkasnya.
Sementara itu Vice Presiden Network Shell Mobility Indonesia Inggrid Siburian mengatakan, webinar ini sengaja diselenggarakan dalam rangka SPBU Shell yang akan dibuka pada akhir tahun ini. Menurutnya, Shell SPBU telah hadir di Indonesia pada tahun 2005 dengan SPBU pertama di Tanggerang.

“Di Indonesia sendiri kami beroperasi di lima Provinsi, 22 kota dan kabupaten dengan memiliki 155 SPBU,” jelasnya.
Inggrid menerangkan, tujuan kehadiran mereka bukan hanya menyediakan bahan bakar tapi juga menjadi destinasi bagi konsumen di Sumut dengan fasilitas yang disediakan. Pihaknya juga memang ingin memberikan dampak positif bagi perkembangan ekonomi di Sumut dengan komitmen memberdayakan masyarakat sekitar.
“Sehingga kami bisa menjadi bagian masyarakat dalam membangun ekonomi di sekitarnya,” tuturnya.

As a company engaged in the fuel sector, North Sumatra Deputy Governor Musa Rajekshah hopes that Shell Indonesia can contribute to economic development in North Sumatra Province.
He conveyed this when holding a webinar with Shell Indonesia from the North Sumatra DPRD Office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Medan, Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
“We hope that Shell’s presence in North Sumatra can provide one thing for economic improvement. It can also absorb labor and contribute to PAD for the North Sumatra region and province,” said Deputy Governor Musa Rajekshah.
Musa Rajekshah said, as an oil company, Shell is currently developing its business in gas stations in several areas in Indonesia, including one in North Sumatra. For this reason, it is hoped that in the ongoing business competition, Shell can provide a new nuance.
“We also hope that Shell can play a role in various activities such as automotive so that it can continue to advance and develop whether through CSR and others,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Network Shell Mobility Indonesia, Ingrid Siburian, said that this webinar was deliberately held in the context of a Shell gas station that will open at the end of this year. According to him, Shell gas stations have been present in Indonesia in 2005 with the first gas station in Tangerang.
“In Indonesia alone we operate in five provinces, 22 cities and regencies with 155 gas stations,” he explained.
Ingrid explained that the purpose of their presence was not only to provide fuel but also to become a destination for consumers in North Sumatra with the facilities provided. His party also really wants to have a positive impact on economic development in North Sumatra with a commitment to empowering the surrounding community.
“So we can be part of the community in developing the surrounding economy,” he said.
