General Manager Network Service Assurance Sumbagut Telkomsel, Ardhiono Trilaksono mengatakan, Telkomsel terus mendorong pengembangan serta pemanfaatan digital platform dan digital services oleh masyarakat di wilayah operasional Sumbagut yang meliputi provinsi Sumatera Utara dan Aceh.
Upaya tersebut dilakukan sebagai bagian dari penguatan pilar digital connectivity yang merupakan komitmen Telkomsel untuk Indonesia. “Selain itu kami juga memastikan jaringan Telkomsel hadir dengan kualitas terbaik untuk mendukung berbagai aktivitas yang memanfaatkan jaringan broadband berteknologi terkini,” sebut Ardhiono.
Hingga kuartal tiga tahun 2021 ini, Telkomsel di wilayah operasional Sumbagut telah menggelar lebih dari 4.500 BTS 4G. Jumlah tersebut tumbuh sekira 48 persen dibanding periode yang sama pada 2020.
Peningkatan jumlah BTS serta optimalisasi jaringan dilakukan, untuk memberikan kelancaran akses broadband 4G LTE maupun layanan VoLTE dengan cakupan lebih luas dan kualitas yang prima.
Pertumbuhan tersebut turut didorong kenaikan trafik layanan data data yang sangat signifikan hingga mencapai 76 persen jika dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya.
Sedangkan, untuk layanan VoLTE sendiri hingga kini telah hadir dan melayani pelanggan di lebih dari 53 kota/kabupaten di wilayah Sumatera Utara dan Aceh.

Ardhiono menambahkan, teknologi 4G/LTE yang berkembang saat ini telah lebih unggul hingga dapat mendukung teknologi layanan VoLTE.
Dengan VoLTE, masyarakat dapat menikmati pengalaman panggilan suara yang lebih jernih serta dapat digunaan secara bersamaan saat melakukan aktivitas internet baik itu browsing, streaming maupun bermain games online.
Telkomsel secara konsisten terus memperluas dalam menghadirkan teknologi jaringan terdepan untuk masyarakat Indonesia. Inovasi dan pengaplikasian teknologi ini tidak akan berhenti hanya sampai 4G dan VoLTE saja, tapi teknologi 5G pun sudah mulai diterapkan dan akan terus di perluas.
