Budget Realization Increases Economic Growth of North Sumatra | OBROLANBISNIS.com North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Governor Edy Rahmayadi asked regional heads not to hesitate to realize the budget. Accelerating the realization of the budget, according to him, will encourage North Sumatra’s economic growth, after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

From January 1 to September 24, 2021, the realization of the North Sumatra Provincial Government’s Regional Revenue and Budget (APBD) reached 57.02% or around Rp7.82 trillion. This achievement increased by 7.72% after receiving an appreciation from the Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian last August 18, 2021.

The acceleration of budget absorption was also followed by other regional governments such as Langkat Regency 56.48%, Serdangbedagai 55.76 and Central Tapanuli 55.63%. The total absorption of the North Sumatra Regional Budget as of September 24 reached 48.92%.

“This budget year, there are approximately three months left, don’t hesitate to realize the budget but be precise and correct. Here, we are discussing with the Attorney General’s Office, Kapolda, BPK and BPKP, so there is no more reason to be afraid,” said Governor Edy Rahmayadi during the PPKM Evaluation Coordination Meeting and Budget Absorption for Handling Covid-19 throughout North Sumatra at the Grand Aston City Hall Hotel, Medan. , Monday, September 27, 2021.

The coordination meeting was officially opened by Governor Edy Rahmayadi, which was marked by the beating of the gong. Then continued discussions with the North Sumatran Governor, North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General RZ Panca Putra, North Sumatra High Prosecutor (Kejati) Head IBN Wiswantanu, Head of the North Sumatran Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative Eydu Oktain Panjaitan, and Head of the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency Representative (BPKP) North Sumatra Kwinhatmaka. Meanwhile, the participants included Regional Heads throughout North Sumatra along with Forkopimda elements.

During the discussion, Edy Rahmayadi explained that the slow absorption of the budget was due to several factors such as inadequate Human Resources (HR), fear of Law Enforcement Officials (APH) and natural factors. Apart from natural factors, he hopes that there will not be a Remaining Year’s Budget Financing (SILPA).

“Good financial management means that there is no SILPA, other than due to natural factors such as disasters or others so that the program cannot be run. If it’s because of human resources and doubts that can be overcome, that’s why we gather here, “explained Edy Rahmayadi.

He also reminded that in addition to the APBD, the realization of the Covid-19 handling budget was also carried out as soon as possible. As of September 18, 2021, North Sumatra has realized the Covid-19 budget of 50.7% or around 87.2 billion.

“This is what many budget managers fear and doubt. As said by the Kapolda and the Attorney General’s Office, if there is no intentional or negligent use of this budget, then there is nothing to be afraid of,” explained the Governor of North Sumatra.

North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol. R.Z Panca Putra Simanjuntak confirmed that he had ordered his subordinates to assist regional heads in realizing their budgets. In this way, it is hoped that the acts of corruption, collusion and nepotism will be avoided.

North Sumatra Police in acting, according to Panca Putra, did not immediately make arrests, there were stages such as initial efforts, preventive efforts, warnings, evaluations and then law enforcement.

“I have told my subordinates not to scare me, accompany me. If anyone is playing games, please let me know. This is for the progress of the economy of North Sumatra, for the welfare of the people. We are also in the act of not being able to immediately arrest there are previous attempts, “said Panca.

Meanwhile, the North Sumatra Attorney General’s Office, IBN Wiswantanu, said that efforts to recover the economy were carried out while still suppressing the spread of Covid-19. Health protocols and accelerated vaccination are currently the main weapons in suppressing the spread of this disease.

“Currently we don’t have level 4 anymore, but that shouldn’t let us down because to recover the economy we still have to control the spread of Covid-19,” he added.

This coordination meeting was physically attended by regional heads throughout North Sumatra along with Forkopimda elements. In addition, there are also virtual Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) of each district/city as well as other relevant government institutions.***
