Gubernur Sumut Edy Rahmayadi menyambut baik ketertarikan Polandia untuk meningkatkan kerja sama di sektor pariwisata dan ekonomi. Menurutnya, kerja sama ini bisa ditingkatkan ke level yang lebih serius.

“Mereka tertarik dengan pariwisata Sumut terutama Danau Toba, kita juga memperkenalkan Tangkahan dan objek wisata lainnya. Mereka juga tertarik memperkuat kerja sama di bidang ekonomi karena Sumut memiliki potensi besar,” kata Edy Rahmayadi usai menyambut Beata Stoczyńska di Rumah Dinas Gubernur Sumut, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Nomor 41, Medan, Kamis, 7 Oktober 2021.



Selain pariwisata dan ekonomi, Polandia juga menawarkan kerja sama di bidang energi dan teknologi, terutama Teknologi Informasi (TI) untuk pelabuhan. Edy Rahmayadi mengatakan akan menindaklanjuti tawaran kerja sama dari Republik Polandia.

“Mereka tertarik dengan pelabuhan kita seperti Belawan dan Kualatanjung. Kita akan tindak lanjuti, kita pelajari,” kata Edy Rahmayadi.

Sementara itu Beata Stoczyńska berharap kerja sama Sumut dengan Republik Polandia bisa segera terwujud. Menurutnya, kerja sama yang mereka tawarkan akan mendorong kedua belah pihak untuk lebih maju.

“Kita tentu berharap kerja sama kita dengan Sumut semakin baik, semakin erat. Itu akan mendorong Sumut dan Polandia tumbuh bersama lebih cepat,” kata Beata Stoczyńska.

Beata juga mengungkapkan ketertarikannya dengan Danau Toba. Menurutnya danau vulkanik terbesar di dunia memiliki daya tarik besar bagi orang-orang Eropa.

“Saya sangat tertarik, seperti kebanyakan orang-orang Eropa di sana. Danau ini memiliki nilai historis yang besar dan keindahan yang luar biasa. Mudah-mudahan semakin banyak masyarakat Polandia yang datang ke Danau Toba,” terang Beata Stoczyńska.



Turut hadir Konsul Kehormatan Polandia di Medan Jonner Napitupulu beserta jajaran Kedutaan Besar Polandia di Indonesia.
