FPLT Bisa Pangkas Biaya Pengolahan Limbah | OBROLANBISNIS.com — Gubernur Sumatera Utara (Sumut) Edy Rahmayadi meninjau lokasi pembangunan Fasilitas Pengolahan Limbah Terpadu (FPLT) di kompleks Kawasan Industri Medan (KIM), Jalan Pulau Batam, Percut Seituan, Deliserdang.

FPLT Can Cut Waste Treatment Costs | OBROLANBISNIS.com — North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Governor Edy Rahmayadi inspects the construction site for the Integrated Waste Treatment Facility (FPLT) in the Medan Industrial Estate (KIM) complex, Batam Island Road, Percut Seituan, Deliserdang. The existence of this facility is expected to reduce the cost of waste treatment, especially toxic and hazardous waste (B3).
“I really wanted something like this in North Sumatra, since three years ago. Because this will have many benefits, especially in terms of processing waste, especially B3, from hospitals,” said Governor Edy Rahmayadi accompanied by the Managing Director of PT KIM Ngurah Wirawan, Director of Development and Operations M Hita Tunggal and Director of Operations I PT Adhi Karya Suko Widigdo, Thursday, October 7, 2021.
At the five-hectare FPLT construction site, the Governor visited several waste treatment facilities, such as laboratories and wastewater treatment plants (IPAL). The governor also said that the proposal to build an area like this was three years ago, due to several reports and requests from hospitals related to B3 waste processing.
“Because the cost of processing waste, especially B3 from hospitals, must be sent to West Java. You can imagine how much budget must be spent for it. Some even try to process their own waste, in an incorrect way,” explained the Governor.
For this reason, the Governor is grateful that the project, which was groundbreaking last year, is now in good progress. Because basically, he conveyed the idea and application for the construction of an integrated waste treatment plant in 2018.
“This will make it easier to eliminate waste, reduce costs and certainly accommodate a lot of workers,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the President Director (Director) of PT KIM Ngurah Wirawan appreciated the presence of Governor Edy Rahmayadi who reviewed the location of the FPLT construction. With this facility, this industrial area will have a large enough capacity waste treatment. Therefore, they asked that all progress that has been running, be assured of achieving the target as directed by the Governor.
In line with that, Director of Operations I PT Adhi Karya Suko Widigdo explained that in the FPLT there are several processes. In phase I, he said, there is a B3 laboratory, a training facility for human resources for B3 waste processing, WWTP with a high COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) capacity for heavy waste.
“We will process it (waste), while the plan is 200 points (processing), from the target of 500 points. Then we have incinerators, and TPS (Waste Processing Sites),” he said.
After reviewing the location for the construction of the FPLT, the Governor also attended the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of PT KIM at PT KIM’s Head Office in the complex. Marked by cutting the cone.***
