Perkumpulan Teochew Bersatu dan Lions Club Bantu Rehap Rumah Warga Tak Layak Huni | OBROLANBISNIS.com — Dalam rangka menyambut perayaan Imlek 2573/2022, Perkumpulan Teochew Bersatu Medan-Sumut bersama Lions Club Distrik 307 A2 melakukan peresmian bedah rumah milik seorang warga yang terletak di Jalan Kiwi Gang Buntu Kota Medan, Selasa, 8 Februari 2022.
Sebelum rumahnya direhap, Acek Akim, pria paruh baya tinggal bersama anaknya bernama Dedi Saputra. Rumah yang ditempati Akim bisa dikatakan tidak layak huni.
Berkat bantuan Perkumpulan Teochew dan Lions Club, gubuk Akim disulap dan kini layak huni bersama keluarga kecilnya.
Dari jauh terlihat rumah itu dilapisi dengan cat berwarna putih dan dicampur dengan warna biru, agar terlihat lebih terang dan hidup.
Dalam rumah tersebut berisikan satu kamar tidur dan satu kamar mandi serta satu kasur springbed berukuran sedang.
Dedi, anak dari Acek Akim ini mengaku senang dan sangat bersyukur sebab cita-citanya memiliki rumah layak huni akhirnya tersampaikan.
“Sangat senang dan berterimakasih sekali sebab ini sudah lama saya impikan bersama ayah saya,” ucapnya.

Dedi juga mengaku proses bedah rumah ini tidak memakan waktu yang lama. “Hanya dua minggu prosesnya langsung selesai, terimakasih semoga Lions Club dan Perkumpulan Teochew Medan terus berjaya dan terus bisa melakukan bakti sosial kepada rakyat yang kurang mampu,” ucapnya.
Terpisah Gubernur Distrik Lions Club Indoneisa 307 A2, Karun Wirianto menyatakan, kegiatan bakti sosial berupa rehap rumah ini bukanlah pertama kali dilakukan.
“Bagi Lions Club, kegiatan sosial ini bukan kali pertama, membangunkan rumah yang tak layak huni. Dan untuk rumah bapak Kim ini seharusnya tahun lalu dibedah, namun karena ada proyek lain jadi baru bisa dikerjakan dua minggu lalu,” tuturnya.
Peresmian ini juga dilakukan dalam rangka untuk memeriahkan Imlek yang telah dirayakan beberapa hari lalu. “Jadi kami bersama Perkumpulan Teochew memutuskan untuk meresmikan rumah bapak Kim di momen Imlek,” paparnya.
Ia juga berharap, dengan rumah layak huni tersebut, Kim bersama keluarga bisa hidup dengan tenang, nyaman dan aman.

“Mudah-mudahan setelah ini Acek Akim tidak merasakan lagi kekhawatiran, mereka bisa tenang dan nyaman saat istirahat di rumahnya,” ucapnya.
Terpisah Ketua Perkumpulan Teochew Bersatu Medan, Dr Agus Susanto Tan juga menyatakan bahwa peresmian bedah rumah ini untuk turut memeriahkan hari perayaan Imlek.
“Ini bukan kali pertama kali lakukan bedah rumah dan berkolaborasi dengan Lions Club ini. Memang awal mulanya kami diajak pihak Lions untuk bedah rumah bapak Kim ini,” ucapnya.
Saat diajak oleh Lions Club, dikatakan Agus bahwa pihak Teochew mengaku senang karena bisa turut membantu. “Jadi karena diajak kita juga senang akhirnya tersampailah bedah rumah kepada Acek Kim ini,” ucapnya.
Agus juga berharap, agar kedepan makin banyak lagi kegiatan sosial yang akan dilakukan pihaknya.
Ia berpesan kepada masyarakat yang mungkin menemukan seseorang yang harus dibantu, agar kiranya dapat menghubungi pihaknya.
“Harapannya kita bisa terus mengadakan bakti sosial jadi kalau masyarakat menemukan seseorang yang perlu bantuan boleh hubungi kita,” tukasnya. ***
United Teochew Association and Lions Club Help Rehabilitate Uninhabitable Residents’ Houses | OBROLANBISNIS.com — In welcoming the 2573/2022 Chinese New Year celebrations, the Medan-North Sumatra United Teochew Association together with the Lions Club District 307 A2 inaugurated the renovation of a resident’s house located on Jalan Kiwi Gang Buntu Medan City, Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Before his house was renovated, Acek Akim, a middle-aged man, lived with his son, Dedi Saputra. Akim’s house is said to be unfit for habitation.
Thanks to the help of the Teochew Society and the Lions Club, Akim’s hut has been transformed and is now livable with his small family.
From afar, it looks like the house is coated with white paint and mixed with blue, to make it look brighter and livelier.
The house contains one bedroom and one bathroom as well as a medium-sized spring bed.
Dedi, the son of Acek Akim, said he was happy and very grateful because his dream of owning a decent house was finally realized.
“Very happy and grateful because this has been a dream for me with my father for a long time,” he said.
Dedi also admitted that the house renovation process did not take long. “In just two weeks the process was immediately completed, thank you, hopefully the Lions Club and the Medan Teochew Association will continue to prosper and continue to be able to carry out social services to the underprivileged people,” he said.
“For the Lions Club, this social activity is not the first time, building an uninhabitable house. And for Mr. Kim’s house it should have been renovated last year, but because there was another project, it could only be done two weeks ago,” he said.
This inauguration was also carried out in order to enliven the Chinese New Year which was celebrated a few days ago. “So we together with the Teochew Association decided to inaugurate Mr. Kim’s house on the Lunar New Year,” he explained.
He also hopes that with the livable house, Kim and his family can live in peace, comfort and safety.
“Hopefully after this Acek Akim will no longer feel worried, they can be calm and comfortable while resting at home,” he said.
Separately, the chairman of the United Medan Teochew Association, Dr Agus Susanto Tan, also stated that the inauguration of this house renovation was to help enliven the Chinese New Year celebration.
“This is not the first time we have done house renovations and collaborated with the Lions Club. In the beginning, we were invited by the Lions to reconstruct Mr. Kim’s house,” he said.
When invited by the Lions Club, Agus said that Teochew said he was happy because he could help. “So, because we were invited, we are also happy that we finally arrived at the house renovation for Acek Kim,” he said.
Agus also hopes that in the future there will be more social activities that will be carried out by his party.
He advised people who might find someone to help, so that they could contact them.
“Hopefully we can continue to hold social services so if people find someone who needs help, they can contact us,” he said. **
