Kementerian Kominfo RI Dukung Telkomsel Tuntaskan Upgrade Jaringan 3G ke 4G/LTE Hingga Akhir Tahun | OBROLANBISNIS.com — Implementasi Telkomsel untuk proses peningkatan/pengalihan (upgrade) seluruh layanan jaringan 3G ke jaringan 4G/LTE, dengan total lebih dari 49 ribu BTS 3G di 504 kota/kabupaten secara bertahap mulai Maret hingga akhir tahun ini, mendapatkan dukungan penuh dari pemerintah melalui Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika (Kominfo) RI.

Dukungan Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika RI ini juga disampaikan langsung oleh Direktur Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika Dr Ir Ismail MT yang turut hadir melakukan pengecekan langsung proses upgrading 932 BTS 3G ke 4G/LTE pada 6 April 2022, bertempat di Telkomsel Smart Office, Jakarta.
“Kami dari Kementerian Kominfo menyambut baik rencana peningkatan (improvement) 3G menjadi 4G. Semoga langkah-langkah yang diambil Telkomsel ini selalu terukur dan terarah, serta terlihat dampaknya terhadap aktivitas sehari-hari masyarakat. Ini sebuah kesempatan bagi masyarakat untuk dapat menikmati layanan Telkomsel yang lebih baik. Kami di Kominfo melihat inisiatif Telkomsel untuk melakukan peningkatan kapasitas dan kemampuan dari jaringannya sangat ditunggu-tunggu oleh masyarakat. Karena jaringan telekomunikasi, khususnya koneksi mobile internet, saat ini sudah merupakan kebutuhan pokok bagi masyarakat,” jelas Ismail.
Ismail kemudian menambahkan, untuk mendukung pengembangan jaringan 4G maupun 5G di Indonesia, diperlukan adanya improvement teknologi dari 3G menjadi teknologi yang lebih tinggi kemampuannya.

Direktur Network Telkomsel Nugroho mengatakan, Telkomsel mengapresiasi kepercayaan dan dukungan yang diberikan oleh Kementerian Kominfo RI dengan mulai dilakukannya proses upgrade seluruh jaringan 3G ke 4G/LTE secara bertahap dan terukur pada tahun ini.
Dukungan tersebut memberikan semangat tambahan bagi kami untuk memastikan seluruh rangkaian proses upgrade jaringan yang dilakukan dapat berjalan lancar dan tuntas, dengan tetap mengedepankan kenyamanan pelanggan dalam mengakses jaringan broadband terdepan dari Telkomsel sesuai dengan target hingga akhir tahun 2022.
“Kami meyakini, upaya ini akan meningkatkan pengalaman gaya hidup digital masyarakat, sekaligus membuka percepatan transformasi perekonomian nasional melalui pemanfaatan teknologi berbasis digital terkini,” ujarnya.
Direktur Planning and Transformation Telkomsel Wong Soon Nam yakin melalui percepatan upgrade layanan jaringan 3G ke 4G/LTE ini, akan mampu menghadirkan konektivitas digital dengan kualitas prima yang merata hingga pelosok negeri, serta mengakselerasi transformasi digital di lintas sektor industri di berbagai wilayah Indonesia.

Saat ini, Telkomsel telah memasuki tahap pertama proses upgrade layanan jaringan 3G ke 4G/LTE. Pada tahap pertama ini, Telkomsel melakukan upgrade jaringan di 766 kecamatan yang berada di 90 kota/kabupaten selama Maret-Mei 2022.
Kecamatan di wilayah operasional Telkomsel Area Jawa Bali dan Pamasuka (Papua, Maluku, Sulawesi dan Kalimantan) menjadi yang paling mendominasi untuk percepatan proses upgrade seluruh jaringan 3G ke 4G/LTE sepanjang Maret hingga Mei 2022.
Sedangkan untuk tahap kedua akan dimulai pada Juni hingga Juli 2022 di 132 kota/kabupaten. Tahap ketiga, upgrade layanan dilakukan di 178 kota/kabupaten pada Agustus hingga Oktober 2022, dan tahap keempat pada November-Desember 2022 di 104 kota/kabupaten.
Selama proses upgrading berlangsung, pelanggan masih dapat melakukan layanan panggilan suara dengan nyaman dan tetap terjaga melalui jaringan 2G Telkomsel yang masih tersedia.
Pelanggan juga dapat merasakan pengalaman panggilan suara berkualitas HD sambil menikmati akses internet baik itu browsing, bermain game, video streaming, secara bersamaan dengan menggunakan layanan VoLTE Telkomsel yang kini telah tersedia di 514 kota/kabupaten.
Telkomsel bersama BAKTI Kominfo juga telah melakukan pengalihan ribuan BTS Universal Service Obligation (USO) di wilayah 3T (Terdepan, Terluar, Tertinggal) agar terhubung ke jaringan 4G/LTE.

RI Ministry of Communication and Information Supports Telkomsel to Complete 3G Network Upgrade to 4G/LTE Until the End of the Year | OBROLANBISNIS.com — Telkomsel’s implementation of the process of upgrading/upgrading all 3G network services to 4G/LTE networks, with a total of more than 49 thousand 3G BTS in 504 cities/regencies gradually from March to the end of this year, gets full support from the government through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) RI.

Director of Planning and Transformation Telkomsel Wong Soon Nam believes that by accelerating the upgrade of 3G to 4G/LTE network services, it will be able to provide digital connectivity with excellent quality that is evenly distributed throughout the country, as well as accelerate digital transformation across industrial sectors in various parts of Indonesia.
Currently, Telkomsel has entered the first stage of the process of upgrading its 3G network services to 4G/LTE. In this first stage, Telkomsel will upgrade its network in 766 sub-districts in 90 cities/regencies during March-May 2022.
The sub-districts in Telkomsel’s operational areas in the Java, Bali and Padalama areas (Papua, Maluku, Sulawesi and Kalimantan) are the most dominating for the acceleration process of upgrading the entire 3G network to 4G/LTE from March to May 2022.
Meanwhile, the second phase will start from June to July 2022 in 132 cities/districts. The third phase, service upgrades will be carried out in 178 cities/districts from August to October 2022, and the fourth phase in November-December 2022 in 104 cities/districts.
During the upgrade process, customers can still make voice calls comfortably and maintained through Telkomsel’s 2G network which is still available.
Customers can also experience HD quality voice calls while enjoying internet access, be it browsing, playing games, video streaming, simultaneously using Telkomsel’s VoLTE service, which is now available in 514 cities/districts.
Telkomsel and BAKTI Kominfo have also transferred thousands of BTS Universal Service Obligation (USO) in the 3T (Front, Outermost, Disadvantaged) areas to connect to the 4G/LTE network.
This step will also be continued this year with a target to build 7,772 USO 4G/LTE BTS in the 3T region.
