“Saya mewakili para lansia mengucapkan terimakasih atas kunjungan Lions Club Medan Alumni Husni Thamrin, yang mengadakan bakti sosial di Taman Bodhi Asri ini,” ucap Tony, Sekretaris Panti Jompo Taman Budi Asri.
Menurutnya, para lansia yang ditampung di Panti Taman Bodhi Asri ini berasal dari jalanan yang ditampung untuk diberikan perawatan dan kehidupan yang layak.
“Ada juga sebagian penghuni panti titipan dari masyarakat yang tidak mampu lagi merawat orangtuanya,” sebut Tony.
Tony menerangkan, ada 145 orang penghuni panti jompo, diantaranya 88 orang lansia dan para pekerja dan suster. “Penghuni panti berusia 50 – 70 tahun ke atas. Para lansia sangat senang dan berterima kasih atas kedatangan Lions Club Medan Alumni Husni Thamrin,” jelasnya.

Sementara itu, Dr Agus Susanto Tan mengungkapkan, bakti sosial Lions Club Medan Alumni Husni Thamrin ke panti jompo Taman Bodhi Asri dalam rangka menyambut Imlek.
“Kegiatan bakti sosial ini rutin dilakukan Lions Club Medan Alumni Husni Thamrin menjelang Imlek. Dan kegiatan bakti sosial ini juga dilakukan di perayaan hari besar keagamaan lainnya,” bebernya.
Adapun bantuan yang disalurkan Lions Club Alumni Husni Thamrin berupa Makan siang, Angpao, Cake Ulang Tahun Bersama (4 orang), Paket Snack, Kue, Tong Sampah, Beras, Minyak Goreng, Oatmeal, Kecap, Sabun, Bedak Skin powder, Deterjen, Baju Kaos, Sabun pembersih lantai, Baju tidur, Obat-obatan dan lainnya.
