Pegadaian Medan Collaborates with Waste Bank and FORSEPSI to Realize ‘Indonesia Free of Waste 2025’ • OBROLANBISNIS.com — PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan conducted a consolidation of the Pegadaian Fostered Waste Bank with the Indonesian Gold Friends Care for Waste Forum (FORSEPSI), Tuesday (30/7/2024), at the Le Polonia Hotel, Medan.
The purpose of the consolidation, in addition to fostering friendship between the management of Pegadaian Medan and the Pegadaian Fostered Waste Bank, is to establish collaboration and synergy in realizing the ‘Sorting Waste, Saving Gold’ program, which is Pegadaian’s support for the government’s program to realize ‘Indonesia Free of Waste 2025’.
Also present were the Head of PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan, Beni Martina Maulan, representatives of the Environment and Forestry Service of North Sumatra Province, Deputy of Operations of PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan Basuki Tri Andayani, Deputy of Business Area Medan 1 Anwar Hidayat, Deputy of Business Area Medan 2 Johanes Nanang Hartanto, Chair of the Indonesian Golden Friends Care for Waste Forum (FORSEPSI), Mina Dewi Sukmawati and the management of the Pegadaian Medan Fostered Waste Bank and Pegadaian personnel.
As the second largest waste producing country in the world, all parties must be actively involved in helping the government save the environment, including PT Pegadaian which is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN).
“PT Pegadaian’s collaboration with waste banks in Indonesia is one of the BUMN programs related to the environment. Since 2018, PT Pegadaian has fostered dozens of waste banks. In Regional Office 1 Medan itself, there are 8 Waste Banks fostered by Pegadaian Medan,” said the Head of PT Pegadaian Regional Office 1 Medan, Beni Martina Maulan.
According to him, when dozens of waste banks were formed, they did not have a forum or forum to foster them. However, we need to appreciate the presence of Forsepsi, as a forum for caring about waste, which was formed in 2022 and has now fostered more than 200 waste banks.
He hopes that Pegadaian, together with its fostered waste banks, can continue to educate the public regarding the negative impacts of waste if not managed properly.
Moreover, the waste can be turned into rupiah if processed properly. In fact, now waste can produce gold if sold at Pegadaian’s fostered Waste Bank.
“Pegadaian through its Gold Savings product facilitates the proceeds from the sale of sorted waste with a gram balance of gold savings. This is also in line with the government’s program towards Indonesia Emas 2045,” said Beni.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Gold Friends Care for Waste Forum (FORSEPSI), Mina Dewi Sukmawati, appreciated the implementation of this activity.
“In addition to establishing friendship with Pegadaian management, we as members of the Pegadaian waste bank can exchange ideas and convey problems that occur in the field. Hopefully through this activity we will gain more knowledge and support from PT Pegadaian,” she said.
The Head of the North Sumatra Province Environment and Forestry Service represented by the Functional Environmental Impact Controller, Young Expert in the PPLB3 Field, Indra Bangsawan Harahap, SH, MH, welcomed the implementation of the PT Pegadaian Fostered Waste Bank Consolidation activity.
“This activity is in line with the government’s program of Indonesia Free of Waste 2025.
