Rektor UNPRI Minta Mahasiswa Baru Beradaptasi dengan Perubahan • OBROLANBISNIS.com — Rektor Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes membuka secara resmi kegiatan Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru (PKKMB) di kampus utama UNPRI Jalan Sampul nomor 3 Kota Medan, Sabtu, 7 September 2024.
Hadir di acara itu, Ketua Badan Pelaksana Harian (BPH) Yayasan Perguruan Tinggi Prima Indonesia Prof.Dr. Tommy Leonard, SH., M.Kn, Dr. drg. Florenly, M.P.H, Wakil Rektor (WR) I UNPRI Abdi Dharma MKom, WR III Dr. Said Rizal MA, para Ketua Lembaga, Kepala Biro, para Dekan beserta jajarannya, dan mahasiswa baru dari seluruh fakultas di lingkungan UNPRI.

Rektor UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes mengatakan, kegiatan Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru atau PKKMB sangat bermanfaat untuk memberikan pembekalan, agar mahasiswa baru mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan kampus dan segala sistemnya, yang akan dihadapi selama perkuliahan.
“Ini karena kehidupan kampus sangat berbeda dengan kehidupan di masa sekolah menengah,” jelasnya.
Selain itu, kata Rektor, PKKMB juga sekaligus dimaksudkan untuk dapat melatih kerjasama, melatih mental, sarana membangun relasi dengan teman, senior dan dosen serta mengenal budaya kampus yang dapat memberikan inspirasi dan motivasi, selama perkuliahan maupun kelak nanti setelah lulus.
“Sebagai seorang mahasiswa yang berada di lingkungan yang baru yaitu dunia kampus perguruan tinggi, kalian akan menghadapi tantangan-tantangan baru yang memerlukan ketekunan, disiplin, dan sikap pantang menyerah. Universitas ini akan mendukung kalian dalam mengembangkan potensi, baik secara akademik maupun non-akademik. Oleh karena itu, saya mengajak kalian untuk aktif berpartisipasi dalam berbagai kegiatan kampus, baik di bidang akademik, riset, kegiatan Non akademik, maupun kegiatan sosial,” kata Rektor memotivasi mahasiswa baru.

Rektor menegaskan, mahasiswa yang belajar di kampus UNPRI harus mampu beradaptasi dengan perubahan dengan cepat dan memiliki keunggulan kompetitif untuk memenuhi tantangan kebutuhan global.
“Transformasi sosial melalui pendidikan dan pengetahuan dengan merevitalisasi, khususnya pada pendidikan etik dan etika itu hal yang sangat penting dilakukan kampus. Ini mengingat kampus adalah sebuah lingkungan bersatunya pikiran, perasaan, dan tekad kemauan manusia terdidik, guna melahirkan penciptaan dan perbuatan yang baik, benar dan indah,” tutur Prof Chrismis.
Di dalam upaya mewujudkan lingkungan kampus yang aman, adil, dan inklusif, lanjut Rektor, perguruan tinggi semakin menyadari perlunya keberadaan lembaga khusus yang menangani isu sensitif seperti kekerasan seksual, bulliying, dan pelanggaran etik lainya melalui Komisi Etik Universitas Prima Indonesia.
Di depan mahasiswa baru, Rektor mengatakan, UNPRI juga memiliki wadah dalam mengembangkan kreatifitas mahaaiswa. Ada UNPRI Creative yang siap menerima mahasiswa baru menjadi anggota. Kampus ini juga telah menghasilkan beberapa karya mahasiswa yang dibanggakan secara nasional maupun internasional.

Selain itu, kata Rektor, UNPRI berkomitmen penuh mendukung program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka Kementerian Pendidikan Kebudayaan Riset dan Teknologi.
MBKM merupakan terobosan yang yang tepat dengan memberikan kesempatan bagi mahasiswa/i untuk mengasah kemampuan sesuai bakat dan minat, dengan terjun langsung ke dunia kerja sebagai persiapan karier masa depan.

The Chancellor emphasized that students studying at the UNPRI campus must be able to adapt to changes quickly and have a competitive advantage to meet the challenges of global needs.
“Social transformation through education and knowledge by revitalizing, especially in ethics and ethics education, is something that is very important for the campus to do.
