This is BRI’s Preparation to Face Natural Disasters in Indonesia | The Eagle Team Will Search for and Collect Disaster Information • OBROLANBISNIS.com — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (“BRI”) is increasingly strengthening its readiness to face natural disasters in Indonesia, this is in line with the increasing number of natural disasters that occurred throughout 2024.
Based on data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), from January to September 2024 Indonesia has experienced no less than 1,300 disasters.
This situation encourages BRI to intensify mitigation efforts and rapid responses to the impact of disasters, especially in supporting the economic recovery of the community.
In order to encourage capacity and capability in disaster emergencies, BRI is holding the “2024 BRI Volunteer Eagle Team National Jamboree” on October 25-27, 2024 in Sukabumi, West Java.
The BRI Volunteer Eagle Team itself is a Disaster Task Force consisting of active BRI employees spread across all BRI work units. The purpose of forming the Eagle Team is to assist in handling emergency disaster response throughout Indonesia.
In this activity, BRI collaborates with various parties, such as the Volunteer School which provides training on disaster emergency management and emergency first aid.
Not only receiving theoretical training, volunteers are also given training in the form of disaster simulations, mental coaching and character building to become strong volunteers.
BRI Deputy President Director Catur Budi Harto, who is also the Elang Team Mentor, said that the 2024 BRI Volunteer Eagle Team National Jamboree aims to provide training and basic understanding of disaster emergencies so that volunteers can gain sufficient knowledge to be ready to carry out their duties during a disaster.
“This activity is very important to carry out in providing training for volunteers. It is expected that the volunteers have an Alert, Agile, and Fast attitude in dealing with various natural disasters and crises,” said Catur in his direction to the Volunteers while also confirming the BRI Volunteer Eagle Team starting from the Head Office Volunteers and Volunteers from 18 BRI Regional Offices.
Catur added that the priorities for disaster management include the safety of workers and their families, securing BRI operations and assets, and synergy in providing BRI Group assistance to the community.
In its implementation, the BRI Volunteer Eagle Team will seek and collect information related to natural disasters, inventory the impacts of natural disasters, compile needs in disaster areas, carry out assessments of natural disasters, carry out emergency responses to natural disasters and compile post-disaster reports.
The implementation of emergency responses to natural disasters can also be carried out in collaboration with third parties, including government agencies, social institutions and other competent parties.
“Hopefully the BRI Volunteer Eagle Team can carry out its duties and commitments as well as possible and collaboration with various parties is also continuously carried out to increase the capacity and capability of Volunteers to get sufficient supplies,” added Catur.
At the end of the National Jamboree, the BRI Volunteer Eagle Team also carried out Social Service activities in the form of distributing basic food assistance to residents in the Sukabumi area as a form of concern from the BRI Volunteer Eagle Team for the surrounding community. ***
