Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan lebih mendalam mengenai proses produksi CPO (Crude Palm Oil) dari FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunch) serta penerapan konsep-konsep akuntansi dalam sektor industri perkebunan.
Kunjungan para mahasiswa Institut Bisnis IT&B disambut hangat dari pihak PT. Sinar Langkat Perkasa yang diwakili oleh Factory Supervisor, Ali Samudera.
Selama kegiatan, Factory Manager memberikan penjelasan komprehensif tentang langkah-langkah dalam produksi CPO, mulai dari pemetikan tandan buah segar (FFB) hingga proses pengolahan menjadi minyak kelapa sawit mentah.
Mahasiswa diajak langsung melihat berbagai tahap proses, mulai dari penerimaan FFB di pabrik, pemisahan buah dari tandan, pengolahan untuk menghasilkan minyak, hingga proses pemurnian yang menghasilkan CPO.

Tidak hanya sekadar teori, para mahasiswa juga diberikan kesempatan untuk berdiskusi dengan pihak manajemen dan tenaga ahli di lapangan mengenai tantangan dan peluang dalam industri ini, termasuk aspek-aspek yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengelolaan biaya, efisiensi produksi, dan penerapan sistem akuntansi di perusahaan yang bergerak di sektor industri perkebunan.
Ali Samudera, Factory Supervisor PT. Sinar Langkat Perkasa menyampaikan, sangat senang dapat berbagi pengetahuan dan pengalaman dengan para mahasiswa Akuntansi dari Institut Bisnis IT&B.
Kegiatan seperti ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran nyata tentang bagaimana dunia industri dan praktik akuntansi di lapangan saling berhubungan.

“Kegiatan ini sangat penting bagi mahasiswa kami agar mereka dapat melihat langsung bagaimana proses produksi di lapangan dan menghubungkannya dengan konsep-konsep akuntansi yang telah dipelajari di kelas. Selain itu, pengalaman ini memberikan wawasan berharga mengenai pengelolaan biaya dan penerapan prinsip-prinsip akuntansi dalam sektor industri yang memiliki karakteristik unik, seperti perkebunan kelapa sawit,” jelasnya.

Sementara itu, Managing Director Institut Bisnis IT&B, Prof (Assoc) Dr Agus Susanto Tan menambahkan, kunjungan studi mahasiswa Institut Bisnis IT&B ke perusahaan perkebunan kelapa sawit tersebut merupakan bagian dari program Belajar Merdeka Kampus Merdeka.

Students are invited to directly see various stages of the process, starting from receiving FFB at the factory, separating the fruit from the bunches, processing to produce oil, to the refining process that produces CPO.
Not only theory, students are also given the opportunity to discuss with management and experts in the field regarding the challenges and opportunities in this industry, including aspects that need to be considered in cost management, production efficiency, and the implementation of accounting systems in companies engaged in the plantation industry sector.
